Learn and Play in
Our Day Nursery near Hertford
Learning is Fun at the Farm
At Munns Farm, your baby,
toddler or pre-school age child will have fun playing, drawing, painting,
singing songs and enjoying activities with other children. Each day this wide variety of activities
will help your baby or child develop physical skills and confidence, as well as
their senses, creative thinking and imagination.
The approach to helping your child learn is founded on praise and encouragement,
to develop self-esteem. Many of the activities are led by the children, with a vast
range of toys and games within their reach. This supports independence and relationships
with their friends. The grown-ups also lead play, provide support with more challenging
activities and manage behaviour.
Your child will be with a group of friends of a similar age, who will move together
through the following age groups:
Education
At all ages, we offer a play-based curriculum which supports all aspects of your
child’s learning and development. We aim to help them discover that learning is
fun – this is vitally important if children are going to remain keen learners for
the rest of their lives. We consider their needs, stages of development and plan
a challenging and enjoyable experience across all the areas of learning and development.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (EYFS), which gives us an outline
to work within and helps when developing care and learning plans for the children.
Under this framework, learning is grouped into the following areas:
- Communication and language
- Physical development
- Personal, social and emotional development
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the world
- Expressive arts and design
When your child leaves the day nursery to move to a Primary or Preparatory school
you can therefore be sure they will be well prepared. As well as additional support,
we have also developed good relationships with local schools in the area and some
teachers visit the nursery to meet the new children before they move on.
